Welcome to Colonial Elementary School

Principal's Corner

Dear School District of Lee County Families,

We continue to work to provide learning opportunities for our students.  During the summer, we know that many students have the potential to regress academically; therefore, we are excited to offer an Expanded Virtual Learning Summer Program to all of our students who are currently in grades K-8.  In an effort to continue student learning while minimally impacting family time, we will only be utilizing the iReady Program.

Students who choose to participate in the summer program will use their individualized learning path to meet their specific academic needs, which will be determined by the diagnostic assessment they will complete before the last day of school. Students will then work on their learning paths for 45 minutes per week in Reading and 45 minutes per week in Math.  A teacher will be assigned to each student to monitor progress and provide support when needed.

The Expanded Virtual Learning Summer Program will begin June 24th and end July 23rd. Teachers will be available to assist students five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Below is a survey for all families to complete to either opt in or out of the expanded learning program. Students that opt in will keep/bring home their chromebooks until August 10th, which is the first day of our next school year. Students that opt out will be asked to return their chromebooks by June 17th. Please complete the survey below for each of your children who are currently in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.
