Parent Pick-Up
Dismissal time for Colonial Elementary students is 3:10 p.m. Parents are to go through the parent pick-up line and wait patiently for their students. Each vehicle MUST have the school-issued pickup tag for the correct school year placed in its window with their students name and grade level. It is our goal to complete our pickup as soon as possible. We need the cooperation of parents to pick up their students on time. Students who are not picked up when the line is complete will go to the office. Parents will need to go to the front office with proof of ID to pick up their child. A late fee may be applied. Students who are walkers will need to be within 2 miles of the school and not have a bus.
Walkers
The walker gate is located near the bus ramp exit. Parents are not allowed to come through the walker gate or the bus ramp gate. The walker gate will be open at 8:20 am. Students will not be supervised before that time. Any students who are met at the gate by an adult must have the proper walker tag. All walkers are dismissed a few minutes later so please be patient with our staff. All walkers must use the crosswalk and sidewalks crossing schoolhouse road for their safety.
Inclement Weather
In an event of a lightning alert or hard rain dismissal will take longer to ensure the safety of all students and staff. School staff will communicate through school messenger to inform parents before dismissal. Walkers will not be released if there is a lightning alert within 10 miles of the area. If the walkers parents wish to get their students during the inclement weather they will need to come to the gate near the staff parking lot with walker tag present.
